Tenderness Press (hereby referred to as “the Platform”) is a curated editorial platform and independent publishing studio based in Amsterdam and Berlin. We accept and review submissions from individual Authors on a rolling basis - from essays, articles and op-eds, to short stories, poetry and art & photography series. 

Submission Guidelines & Ownership

  1. The Platform collects written and visual submissions through a form available on the Platform’s website. 

  2. The Author confirms that the submission is their original work and that, if applicable, all parties mentioned, credited or otherwise included in the submission’s contents have consented to it. 

  3. The Platform does not hold any rights or liability to the submitted work. All rights and liability remain with the Author. 

  4. The Platform reviews submissions internally based on the merit of its contents and its alignment with internal curatorial guidelines. The Platform gives equal opportunity to all Authors, regardless of gender, ethnicity, nationality, age or disability, it does however favour work by women, queer and BIPOC authors.

  5. The Platform reserves the right to deny publication or withhold from publication of submissions which are not aligned with its internal curatorial guidelines, or are otherwise in conflict with the Platform’s ethos.

  6. The Platform shall never, to the best of its knowledge, publish works of plagiarism. If an instance of plagiarism occurs, the liability for such an act remains with the Author who submitted the plagiarised work. 

  7. The Platform reserves the right to remove any submitted work from publication at any moment without justification. 

  8. The Platform shall not publish the submissions in any other form than digital without obtaining prior permission from the Author. 

Data Protection

  1. The Author willingly agrees to provide their obligatory details (personal information) as part of the submission (as highlighted in the form).

  2. The Platform reserves the right to store all submissions and personal information within its database for a period of three years, and to publish or republish the submitted work on the website and all social channels during any moment of this period. 

  3. The Platform will not under any circumstances ever sell the submission, nor share or process the personal information of its Author with any third parties, unless upon written permission from the Author.

  4. Upon notice of any legal or ethical infringements, or privacy bridges, the Platform commits and reserves the right to immediately remove the submitted work from publication, and to share the Author’s available details with the relevant authorities of law. 

  5. The Platform may process the Author’s personal information internally for marketing purposes.

  6. By sharing their details through the form, the Author agrees to be added to the mailing list.
